❝Red. The color of hearts split open and the fire in my veins. A scream of rage, of cursing the white kids who had laughed at my name, of severing the thread binding me to the devils in my house. A color of passion. Of my people. Of rising from the ashes.❞This is the first book I have ever written in my life. I started penning it in the middle of April 2022 and finished it in late May 2022. I was twenty-years-old. The manuscript underwent minor revisions in December 2022, July 2023, and November 2023. In November 2024, I finalized the manuscript and printed a personal copy for myself.

At age twenty-two, the poet experienced a dark night of the soul. Despite the storms of grief, she found solace in the smiles of her partner, in the kindness of her friends, and in the trees and bushes that kept her company while she studied the firmament for signs of paradise.For a long time, the poet chose to blend in, hiding her spirituality to avoid harassment. But then she learned that her way of being and knowing was frequently practiced and celebrated by non-Western and Indigenous people throughout history across the globe prior to the Western colonial transgressions that engineered the industrial simulation. Now, the poet chooses to take a stand and speak.Only through this act of spiritual proclamation can the poet reclaim her narrative from the empty ones who had attempted to silence her throughout her life. By choosing to stay authentic and embrace herself, the poet becomes a catalyst that will help to usher in renewal, unity, and verity.

Wu is a cathartic mixtape and the companion music project to the poetry book, Flower Crowns Reign. With fiery and heartfelt lyrics, Feifei Z reclaims her power and reconnects with her soul. Originally called Six of Swords, Feifei Z changed the title to Wu, which is the pinyin for several Chinese characters that each encapsulate the spirit of this record. 无 for Wu Wei (无为), 五 for the angel number of positive change and personal transformation, 悟 for reawakening, 屋 for staying true to the house of the heart, and 舞 for dancing after the storms.

To celebrate the 2025 Lunar New Year, Feifei Z employs traditional Chinese instrumentation of pipa and erhu to create a festive soundscape that honors her people. As long as I am creating art for the sake of it and for myself, then I am successful. I am free.Q: Why do you release your art?I release my Oeuvre to stand up for my younger self, to take up space, to exist out loud, to amplify the Soul Frequency Of Nature, to honor all the art, to speak the Truth, and to celebrate Harmony With True Reality.I am not aiming to build a career. I do not release my art to make money. Any potential income would go straight into creating my next project. I am never interested in becoming an indentured servant to corporations that aim to exploit and dehumanize creatives. I will never endorse the falsehood that conflates an author with a brand. Speak yourself.Be you.Q: What do you mean when you say that you are spiritual?My spirituality aligns with Chinese folk beliefs such as the Dao (道) / the Universe, natural and complementary balance of yin and yang (阴阳八卦), reincarnation (因果轮回), the existence of Souls (灵魂), qi / life energy (气), cultivating towards Enlightenment (修行), awareness (悟), yuanfen (缘分), different realms across space and time (多维空间), spiritual body (灵体), spiritual mediumship (通灵), astrology (占星术), Yi Jing (易经), Wu Xing (五行), Karmic Justice (因果报应), Wu Wei (无为), and more.I practice what I call the Great Work Of Becoming that fuels my personal evolution and artistic creation. I draw inspiration from alchemy, particularly the process of nigredo-albedo-citrinitas-rubedo to inform my creative projects. This pattern occurs naturally for my art.But ultimately, my spirituality is my own philosophy based on my observations of both the spiritual and the physical.
